Set in a magical place in the city of Turin, AFTER MIDNIGHT tells the story of awkward and gentle Martino, a night watchman at Turin's Museum of Cinema. He spends his nights dreaming about the black and white images of old films. When Amanda, a young woman running from the police, finds refuge in the museum late one night, their meeting is a wondrous though shattering discovery for both. As Amanda's boyfriend Angel keeps the police at bay, Amanda is gently seduced by the Museum's array of cinematic wonders. Love, film citations and pensive commentary about the differences between reality and cinematic representation poetically interweave to create a unique and touching homage to the movies.
